HOW WE WORK
RenoSam organises its work in Topic Groups and Working Groups. Topic Groups are run by a chairman appointed in the Groups of Directors. The chairman is responsible for overall coordination of topic work in RenoSam.
Concrete work primarily takes place in Working Groups with participation of staff from companies/local authorities that are members of RenoSam, whose daily work falls within the issues in question. Working Groups meet two to four times a year.
Topic work in RenoSam has two main purposes:
Protection of member interests
When RenoSam has discussions and participates in consultations with the central government, issues are discussed in the different Working Groups. Important input for our work is produced in the Topic Groups, calling for close dialogue and cooperation between Topic Chariman, Working Groups, and Secretariat.
Development of common initiatives
Topic Groups are not only reactive; they seek to be proactive in identifying tasks to solve or develop jointly. Examples of such tasks are development of wages statistics for staff in waste companies and local authorities and development of new models for management of different waste fractions.
The titles of our Topic and Working Groups give a good idea of the wide scope of issues covered in RenoSam.
